Title: Dreadful Accident or Critical Error? Sharon McBride Lists 2nd District Address for Lawsuit

South Bend’s 3rd District Democratic Councilwoman, Sharon McBride, is once again under scrutiny as new developments in her ongoing residency lawsuit raise pressing questions about her eligibility to serve. A recent court order has revealed a stunning detail that could serve as a critical piece of evidence in the contentious case.
On May 27, 2025, the St. Joseph Circuit Court issued a formal order detailing the recusal of Magistrate Tamashasky, marking him as the fifth judge to step away from the residency lawsuit involving Sharon McBride. The resignation of five judicial officers, including Magistrate Gammage, Judge Broden, Magistrate Wilson, Magistrate Telloyan, and now Magistrate Tamashasky, has prolonged these proceedings and has prolonged justice for our community.

However, the content of Magistrate Tamashasky's latest court order recusing himself is now at the center of the latest controversy. The order, circulated to involved parties, lists 2734 Prast Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, 46628, as Sharon McBride’s mailing address. This is the same 2nd district address McBride is alleged to have resided at outside of her elected district (the 3rd District).
Under Indiana Code Title 36, local government officials are required to live within the district they represent. McBride’s use of this 2nd District residence as her mailing address for legal correspondence directly and ironically challenges her claim of satisfying residency requirements to serve the 3rd District.
