On an emblematic evening of March 13th, following the monthly crime stats meeting of the South Bend Police Department, Redress South Bend’s very own Sarah Foster sat down with Community Resource Officer Brian Meador, taking the stage to peel back the layers of an officer's badge with her signature series, "What Say You?" Officer Meador was deliberately chosen as the first guest to inaugurate this series, providing a rare opportunity to witness law enforcement's personal and heroic sides through Sarah’s penetrating questions. From exploring the motivations that drove Officer Meador to his vocation, to the legacy he aspires to leave behind, the conversation took a deep dive into his commendable act of saving a child’s life. This act didn't go unnoticed by the Indiana Pacers. At an NBA game, the Pacers recognized Officer Meador for his bravery and life-saving act. Yet, amidst the profound, there was room for the lighter shades of his personality, highlighting his favorite types of cookies. The interview intended to do more than humanize; it aimed to bridge the gap, demonstrating that our officers are not just guardians but also fathers, mothers, sons, and daughters with stories to tell.
